Most canned food is high in sodium that can contribute to bloating from water retention and exacerbates hypertension (high blood pressure) or other serious conditions. Water weight can show up as excess pounds on the scale and obscure weight loss progress.
In the long-term, eating an abundance of canned food is a health risk. Buy fewer canned items and opt for fresh foods whenever possible. When fresh is not available, buy frozen. Frozen foods do not require as many chemical additives and preservatives as canned.
