How To Increase Metabolism

Slow and steady doesn’t always win the race especially when you are talking about metabolism. High intensity interval training, such as interval runs or specially designed weight training programmes that are quick and intense jumpstart the metabolism and keep us burning calories long after the workout is over.

So the next time you are working out consider whether your workout is intense enough to keep burning calories after you have finished.

If you are finding it difficult to lose weight or get into good shape in time for your summer holiday chances are you will need a new exercise programme and/or a fresh approach to dieting QUICK!

Why Some People Will NEVER Achieve Results with Training

If you want to get into really good shape and look your best, chances are you will join a gym. You are expected to use rows of cardio machines and confusing and intimidating resistance machines to sculpt your body.

I don’t believe in the whole ‘no brainer’ and ‘plod along’ approach to training that most gyms promote. Encouraging members to ‘switch off’ with distractions from televisions in an attempt to mask the monotony of the experience will never yield the results the individual desires.

This is not what I’m about.

To change for the better and far faster you need to adopt an opposite approach to training and concentrate on what you are doing. To bring results you need to apply a certain amount of intensity, pure and simple. Your sessions don’t need to be fancy but they require your attention and a plan.

My personal training ensures every workout is efficient and effective, moving you closer to your best shape in less time and in much less of a struggle.

Exercise Myth

Myth: Sit-ups gets rid of fat around the stomach.

Fact: Exercising specific parts of the body won’t just burn fat from that area. Fat is lost gradually from all over the body. Also doing sit ups all day long will not reveal your abs if they are covered by fat. To help shed body fat you need to correct your diet and perform all body high intensity exercises.

How To Exercise Properly

Did you know following a poorly designed exercise programme could be worse than not doing any exercise?

Some people get hurt and sometimes injured by exercise. This isn’t surprising especially considering that some people choose exercises that are beyond their body’s capability to do the movement correctly and safely. If you have historical injuries or muscular imbalances you don’t even know you have certain exercises will do more harm than good.

If you don’t follow a progressive protocol you risk the chance of injury. Failing to follow this basic law of exercise can limit or diminish your results. After all, why do people quit going to the gym? Boredom and lack of results! Both of which can be overcome by taking a systematic approach that challenges you safely and effectively.

How To Burn Fat in Just 4 Minutes!

Did you know that high-intensity 4-minute workouts are more effective than an hour of moderate cycling? A study shows eight 20-second all out sprints on a stationary bike, each separated by just 10 seconds of rest is more effective than an hour of moderate cycling.

Instead of doing a single mode of exercise and in particularly exercise using a piece of cardio equipment I recommend using bodyweight exercises or even better using some form of resistance if your fitness levels are up to it. You could even alternate between two exercises that work your muscles in different ways and target problematic areas.

For best results you could repeat the 4-minute workout a few times a day to help boost your metabolism.

Change Your Mindset To Change Your Waistline

Do you hope to get in good shape this year in time for your summer holiday?

If you “hope” to get in good shape chances are you won’t! You are 100% responsible for what happens day-to-day with your diet and whether or not you get enough exercise every week. “Hope” doesn’t come into it, getting in good shape needs to become part of your lifestyle.

For me it’s all about responsibility. Responsibility is absolutely critical to achieving success with your diet and exercise goals. I am willing to do the things most people who don’t achieve results won’t do. What do I mean? I’ve turned tasks into lifestyle habits so I no longer think about them and so can you. Once you do this there’s no work involved, everything runs on autopilot.

Changing your mindset and taking responsibility for your own actions is much better than blaming someone or something else for your lack of results. Don’t talk yourself into becoming a victim or your mindset will guarantee that you will never be slim or toned enough. So the next time someone asks you if you are getting in shape this year reply “I am”.

Eat More Vegetables if You Have “Man Boobs”

Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage are strongly anti-estrogenic, and including them in your diet could go a long way in eliminating this problem.

Do The Hard Work Before The Gym To Achieve Results The Easy Way

A six-pack starts in the kitchen, if you are going to eat the right diet to help you achieve your six-pack you will need to get organised and plan your shopping trips. After all, if you don’t buy it you can’t eat it!

1. Write down your weekly meals, I know this sounds like hard work but persevere because it will soon become second nature and is well worth it.

2. I recommend rotating foods but this doesn’t mean you need to think up 21 different meals. Try 12 meals over a 4-day cycle. It’s not that difficult just think fish, white meats, red meats, game, eggs, avocado’s, nuts, hummus etc. and pair them up with a carbohydrate – vegetables or fruit.

3. Once you have your weekly meal plan you will know exactly what to shop for and avoid the risk of running out of healthy foods. Managing your food stock should become part of your weekly life and you need to find the most convenient way for you to achieve this.

Remember, if you don’t buy it you can’t eat it and you’ll end up deviating from your plan. We all know what happens when there are no healthy options to eat. We end up eating rubbish and get fat. Don’t let this happen to you!
